Two sets of siblings reach BBC’s 500 Words final
It’s a family affair at the BBC’s 500 Words competition this year, as two sets of siblings have made it to the final round.
The annual competition challenges children aged 5-13 to write a story of no more than 500 words. This year, thousands of entries were submitted, but only a select few have made it to the final round.
Among the finalists are brothers and sisters Alex and Emily Smith, who have both impressed the judges with their imaginative and well-crafted stories. The siblings have been writing stories together since they were young, and their shared love of storytelling is evident in their work.
Also making it to the final round are twins James and Sarah Jones, who have each brought their own unique writing style to the competition. Despite being twins, James and Sarah have very different interests and writing styles, making for an interesting dynamic in their stories.
The finals of the competition will be held next month, where the siblings will compete against other talented young writers for the top prize. Regardless of the outcome, it’s clear that these siblings have a bright future ahead of them in the world of storytelling.
