My twin died before prom, now we’re helping others go

Losing my twin sister before prom was the hardest thing I’ve ever had to go through. We had always dreamed of going together, picking out dresses, and dancing the night away. But fate had other plans for us.

After she passed away, I was left feeling lost and alone. But with the support of my friends and family, I found a way to honor her memory and help others in need.

Together with a group of dedicated volunteers, we started a charity to provide prom dresses, suits, and tickets to students who couldn’t afford them. We wanted to make sure that every teenager could have the chance to experience the magic of prom, just like my sister never got to.

Through our hard work and dedication, we have been able to send dozens of students to prom who otherwise wouldn’t have been able to go. It has been a bittersweet journey, but knowing that we are making a difference in the lives of others makes it all worth it.

So now, every year as prom season approaches, we are reminded of our own loss but also of the joy we are able to bring to others. My twin may not be here to dance with me, but her spirit lives on in the smiles of those we help.

And for that, I am forever grateful.
